Running Mantra

I have a new running mantra: 3/5/tuck/lift/thumbs.  Now for the translation:
  • 3 - each foot strikes on 3 points of pressure
  • 5 - on each weight bearing stride all 5 toes maintain contact with the ground
  • tuck - tighten the lower abs and stack the belly button on top of the hips
  • lift - lift the chest up to open the lungs
  • thumbs - thumbs up and point them straight forward

Bottom line is, eliminate everything that doesn't contribute to forward movement and accentuate everything that does.

Just like we are to eliminate everything that interferes with our walk in Christ, all that so easily entangles and run with perseverance like it says in Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

That's a great mantra too.
